In New Zealand, happiness is...

... A perfectly reflected lake

Cave exploration, day two

or the view of the ocean from a cliff-side cave.

But also, happiness here is about the little things. Like a sleeping kitty on the porch.

Or a good cup of coffee. (Not pictured, already drank it).

It's ordering sushi "for takeaway" on the beach! (Note the adorable soy-sauce container).

Or reading a good book.

It's a brother/sister moment,

Or the fact that the local gelato comes accompanied with a gingerbread bear. Meep!

In New Zealand, because you're surrounded by so much epic beauty, you get a bit desensitized to the views. In turn, you start finding what's lovely in the small things, the moments that make life worth living. It's cheesy to say, but it really is true.

And it's something I've been thinking about a lot, now that we have only 3 days left in our cozy paradise on the Pacific.
